I should start this with a little disclaimer – I effing love Etsy.
For the uninitiated, Etsy is a website a bit like eBay, but for arts and craft stuff. People run their own shops, selling all kinds of things from jewellery to clothes to furniture, usually handmade. It’s a real treasure trove for anyone who loves quirky, arty and unique bits and pieces.
I got really into Etsy while planning our wedding, and bought all sorts of things, including my jewellery, headpiece and bouquet. For me, organising a wedding was a creative exercise. I wanted to do as much as I could myself, so that our wedding would be personal, and Etsy helped make that possible. Sure, I could have made my own fabric bouquet, but it wouldn’t have been half as pretty as the one I bought!
I love exploring the website, and it has some great blogs from creative-types too. Plus, Etsy is the originator of the only e-newsletters I actually look forward to receiving each day!
Most of the sellers I’ve dealt with have been lovely too, often including personal notes in with the parcel. One seller, who made my bridesmaid bouquets, even took numerous photos while she was crafting and emailed me regular updates to make sure I was happy.
And this gushing blog post is all my own work – no sponsorship involved!
